Terms of Reference for the Group (as agreed 6/03/07)

 

The key roles for the group are seen as;

 

1. Providing a conduit for information between members and the organisations they represent while providing expert insights for all.

 

2. Focussing on national and regional policy and strategy, seeking to influence and align strategies across sectors and organisations in the UK but situated in the European context.

 

3. Working towards a benchmarking framework to enable organisations to;

  • self-assess their progress in implementing e-portfolio and
  • review current e-portfolio services and product models

 

4. Identifying and supporting key roles relationships and developments in this area.

 

5. Analysing new information needs from consumer to national bodies – unpicking issues and clarifying complexities.

 

6. Relating assessment issues to e-portfolio developments and vice versa.

 

7. To provide advice and guidance to support the effective delivery of e-portfolio services.

 

8. Ensure that issues of inclusion and equality of access are addressed for users of e-portfolios.

 

It is envisaged that this group schedules to meet at least three times a year.

The terms of reference seem incredibly wide-ranging. Are there priorities for the first year? I think we need to work towards a shared understanding of the term, or at least a way to accommodate the various uses (and non-uses)of the term in the field.
